Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Olto Discovery is committed to digital accessibility for everyone, including users with disabilities.

Our commitment

Olto Discovery is committed to providing a research platform that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including researchers with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing engineering responsibility rather than a one-time project.

Standards and conformance

We design and build Olto Discovery against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This includes meaningful semantic structure (headings, landmarks, lists), text alternatives for non-decorative images, sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes, visible keyboard focus indicators, support for screen readers via ARIA where appropriate, and full keyboard operability for all interactive controls.

Keyboard navigation

All primary navigation, forms, menus, and interactive controls in Olto Discovery can be operated with the keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link appears as the first focusable element on every page so keyboard users can bypass the navigation. Modal dialogs and dropdowns can be closed with the Escape key. Forms expose accessible names and validation messages.

Screen-reader support

Pages use HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a logical heading hierarchy. Icon-only buttons include aria-label or visually-hidden text. Decorative graphics use empty alt attributes (alt="") or aria-hidden so they do not interrupt the reading order. Live status changes (such as toast notifications and error messages) use ARIA roles where appropriate.

Color, contrast, and motion

Olto Discovery offers both light and dark themes, plus eight accent color-ways, all designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements for normal and large text. We respect the operating-system setting prefers-reduced-motion: when enabled, transitions and animations are minimized or disabled across the Service.

Touch targets and responsive design

Interactive controls on small screens are sized to a minimum of approximately 44×44 CSS pixels to support accurate touch interaction. Layouts reflow responsively from mobile to desktop without horizontal scrolling at standard zoom levels.

Third-party content

Some embedded third-party widgets (for example, hCaptcha, Stripe checkout, and embedded payment iframes) are provided by external vendors. We have selected vendors who publish accessibility commitments, but we do not directly control the markup of those embedded experiences. If a third-party element creates a barrier for you, please let us know.

Known limitations

Olto Discovery is in active development, and some areas may not yet fully match our target conformance level. We are working to remediate any gaps as part of our regular development cycle. If you encounter a specific accessibility barrier, please report it using the contact details below. Reports from users are one of our most valuable inputs.

Feedback and contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Olto Discovery. If you experience an accessibility barrier, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please email support@oltodiscovery.com. Where possible, include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe and to work with you on a fix.
